Company History

FOUNDED BY A RADIOLOGIST
CCP’s roots date back to 1984 in radiology when Dr. Shirish Parikh introduced progressive changes in the field by building a network of highly trained, subspecialized radiologists to better serve the community. Soon thereafter, recognizing a shortage of primary care physicians and the effects of managed care in a region unprepared for it, Dr. Parikh pioneered the idea of forming the first fully-integrated multispecialty group practice in the Capital Region. In 1994, we received state approval for our multispecialty group and Community Care Physicians was born. Since then, we’ve grown to become the largest, independent multispecialty medical group, with more than 420 providers practicing in over 30 medical specialties within primary care, specialty care, and urgent care, caring for one out of every three to four lives in the Capital Region of New York. CCP is recognized both locally and nationally for its commitment to clinical excellence and an exceptional employee experience.
